Hexagram seeks an Industrial Advisor

Hexagram seeks to stimulate and enrich production in the new media and technology field. To foster the development of technological innovation projects in the media arts field and startup of new technological advances that will give the sector an undeniable advantage, Hexagram is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill an Industrial Advisor position.

Description of the Position
The industrial advisor’s main task will be to serve as a sparkplug between the players in the industrial field and the different partners of Quebec research centres. For this purpose, the person sought will be directly involved:

• in the definition of strategic research orientations in media arts and technology;
• in the maintenance of permanent ties between industry, research centres and university research centres;
• in the improvement of project selection criteria and the usual forms;
• in the development of project monitoring and control tools;
• in representing the media arts and technology sector, the public sector and the private sector, particularly for prospecting and solicitation of research partnerships.

Under his/her mandate, the advisor shall:

• establish strong ties between industrialists and the Quebec research community for the purpose of creating opportunities for interaction between researchers and industry;
• develop technology watch activities;
• support the members of the industrial group in the development and transfer of their projects;
• collect information on the projects and develop presentation tools;
• in collaboration with industrialists, university scientific directors and hub directors, develop the project presentation tools in the rounds of financing and the evolution of selection criteria;
• assist the general management in public representations and presentations to government partners and private enterprise;
• recommend partnerships to the general management and assist the general manager in networking approaches;
• update the information on the website;together with the general management, ensure Hexagram’s presence in the community;
• propose and produce special events to increase the visibility of the Hexagram industrial group within the budgets available;
• assist the general management in the implementation of the development plan;
• accomplish any other task assigned by the general management.

Requirements for this position:

• mastery of a relevant discipline (equivalent experience can compensate);
• over 10 years of professional experience in the media arts field, with proven experience in project management and business development;
• good understanding of the Hexagram environment and industrial research;
• solid experience in facilitating committees;
• good synthesizing and popularization skills;
• oral and written bilingualism.

Working conditions:

• Full-time contractual position
• Three weeks of vacation
